(1) The process of restoring site conditions as they were before land disturbance. Returning a disturbed site to precisely the same state it was prior to the disturbance. This may require rebuilding the soil, precise placement of trees and rocks, and use of only native plants and animals to repopulate the site. (2) The process of restoring site conditions as they were before the land disturbance. Note: restoration involves restoring a site to a specific point in time.
