Post planting

A soil bioengineering technique using large diameter cuttings, normally cottonwood or willow species, to revegetate an eroding bank. These cuttings are placed into the soil resulting in sprouting and rooting of the material to stabilize the bank. [Source: USDA National Plant Materials Manual]
