Genotype

(1) The genetic constitution of an individual or group of plants. Individual plants may vary in appearance (phenotypically), but they must have the genetic characteristics of the genotype. (2) The genetic constitution, latent or expressed, of an organism, as contrasted with the phenotype. (3) The sum total of all genes present in an individual.
