A series of wetland cells designed and constructed to remove pollutants such as sediment and nutrients from surface water using wetland plants. Cells may include a sediment basin, primary vegetative filter, shallow wetland, deep-water pond, and/or vegetative polishing filter. [Source: USDA National Plant Materials Manual]
