Prescribed Fire Groups

Here are groups in Wisconsin that actively use prescribed fire for conservation land management.

International/National

Coalition of Prescribed Fire Councils – A national federation of State Prescribed Fire Councils.
The Ember Alliance – A non-profit, based in northern Colorado, that advocates for prescribed fire, as well as providing training, technical assistance and crews for prescribed fire operations on public and private lands.
Tall Timbers Research Station – Based outside Tallahassee, FL, Tall Timbers manages 4,000 acres of longleaf pine, as well as providing technical assistance and training for private landowners across the southeastern United States.

International Association of Wildland Fire – The International Association of Wildland Fire (IAWF) is a professional membership association for wildland fire professionals. They are an independent organization whose membership includes experts in all aspects of Wildland fire management. Their membership expertise allows it to offer a neutral forum for the consideration of important, at times controversial, Wildland fire issues. IAWF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) professional association representing members of the global wildland fire community.
